Here’s what’s happening this winter:

  • Site surveys are continuing so we’re fully prepared for spring installations.

  • Installations are ongoing for homes and businesses with completed fiber drops.

  • MDU (Multi-Dwelling Unit) wiring is underway for select apartments, townhomes, and condominiums — bringing fiber-fast internet to even more neighbors across Fort Dodge.

Use Strong, Unique Passwords

Avoid using the same password across multiple accounts. Create passwords that include a mix of upper- and lower-case letters, numbers, and symbols. Consider using a trusted password manager to keep track of them securely.

Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Whenever available, turn on two-factor authentication for email, banking, social media, and streaming accounts. This adds an extra layer of security beyond just your password.

Watch out for Phishing Scams

Be cautious of emails or text messages asking for personal information, passwords, or payment details.

Red flags include:

  • Urgent or threatening language

  • Misspellings or unusual sender addresses

  • Links asking you to “verify” or “update” account information

  • If you’re unsure, go directly to the company’s official website instead of clicking the link.

Protect Kids Online

Set parental controls on devices and streaming platforms

Talk with children about online privacy and safe behavior

Keep computers and gaming systems in common areas when possible

Open conversations are one of the best tools for online safety.

Keep Devices Updated

Regular updates on phones, tablets, and computers include important security patches. Don’t ignore update notifications — they help protect against new threats.
